Gxxd Gang has taken LMHS by storm, you can easily spot the XX’s around campus. The Rampage sat down with LMHS Seniors Chase Tolar, Kyle Cohen, Daniel Battilo, and LMHS alumni Cameron Koohyar, their CEO, to ask about the difficulties and successes of starting a business while in school.

Q (Max): What was your motivation to start your own company?

A (Kyle): Our motivation to start our own company came from the brand itself. Once we saw how dope the logo was, we knew it could have the potential to blow up. Which motivated us extremely.

Q (Max): What has been your biggest challenge?

A (Chase): One of our biggest challenges was starting up. Four high schoolers started from nothing and no help. We deal with everything from marketing, sales, inventory, building a website, creating a trademark, and setting up a business bank account, etc. Of all these, the biggest difficulty is staying ahead of the curb, our newer concepts, and ideas we come up with daily. And the content always has to be up to date.

Q (Max): What advice would you give to an LMHS student trying to start a business while in high school?

A (Cameron): If I gave advice to any LMHS student about starting a business, we’d tell them you’re going to have doubters, haters, and non-believers. Build a team of hard workers and people with a strong vision. Work through the obstacles, people will hate no matter what the situation may be. Blind it from your vision, and chase your dreams and goals.

Q (Max): What is your biggest success?

A (Daniel): Our biggest success thus far has been the fact we nearly sold every shirt and tank since we’ve invested in the company, we’ve also sponsored two skaters. The company itself is growing at a solid pace, every day we are grinding to become a larger, more global company than before.

Q (Max): Can you give the LMHS student body any hints on what’s more to come?

A (Chase): We are in the mix of designing three new designer shirts. Two long sleeve shirts, and a T-shirt. In the near future, we will be releasing two jacket hoodies to the public eye.

Q (Max): Where do you see the company 5 years from now?

A (Cameron): In five years, I see our company expanding from the local market to a global market. We will grow using tools through social media, and our clothing company will eventually become full apparel such as hats, hoodies, Shorts, designer shirts, swim apparel, and maybe even socks! With our content, we believe we can change the culture of skating. Our team will influence the audience of extreme sports in many ways. We have a solid crew of dedicated skaters. These men are smart, creative, and athletic. We are looking forward to impacting the sport of skateboarding and other extreme sports through our brand alone.

Q (Max): What makes Gxxd Gang stand out compared to other apparel?

A (Chase): We are full of culture and it’s becoming a lifestyle. We appeal to a younger audience of high schoolers who enjoy outdoor sports, extreme sports, and athletics in general.

Q (Max): Where can LMHS students purchase Gxxd Gang Merch?

A (Cameron): https://www.gxxdgang.com/ , or contact one of our 3-part owners that attend LMHS.
