Lake Mary basketball is doing well after coming off a strong season, but fell short in the regional quarter finals. After going 16-11, they have high expectations of making it back to the playoffs. They did return first all SAC team Jeremiahs Berchal who averaged 16.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assist per game. Malik Raines made the 2nd all SAC team averaging 14.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3 steals. He is in college now as a freshman. The JV basketball team have a good season as well going 12-6 and  winning the 1st annual JV SAC tournament as a #4 seed. They beat #1 Hagerty 69-56, and defeated our rival Lake Brantley 88-66 to win the championship. They also have high expectations coming into this season where you might see some of them on varsity. The freshman team didn’t do as well as the others going 5-7 and not having an impressive season. 2nd year head coach for the Lake Mary Rams, Sirdarious Roundtree is back for another season after being a new head coach last season. In his first season he led his team to a 16-11 record and a playoff spot. But before Lake Mary, he coached at Evans high school in Orlando for 4-5 years. His expectation is high and said he wants to get the program going and keep winning. That some players might not make it and that they will have to keep working. Also, many players might not get the chance to play varsity because of the returning team they have and that they are already training with that team in the fall. But coach Roundtree has experience, he played division 1 basketball and coached division 1 basketball and is trying to make a statement this upcoming season. Will they have another good season? Can they start a dynasty? Will they make better results from last season? We will have to see when the season starts in November.
