With over 200+ different streaming services, businesses still affected by Covid, and a generation surrounded by convenience, there’s been a decline in movie theater ticket sales. As of March, 2023, 77% of people prefer watching movies at home. Most likely because depending on a movie’s price range it could appear on streaming services just a month after being shown in theaters and snacks, like popcorn, in a movie theater can be marked up 5 or more dollars more than retail price. So a monthly subscription and snacks from home make watching movies from your bed or couch a much cheaper experience for film lovers. A lot of people would argue though that the priceless feeling and memories of sitting in a theater and watching a movie is more immersive and enjoyable.
