The excitement in the LMHS student section seems to be waning as the football season progresses. At the beginning of the year, there was a lot of buzz surrounding going back to school, the pep rallies, and the fun student section themes. Attending football games was the highlight of the week for many. However, as time goes on, it’s not uncommon for attendance to decrease.
One possible reason for the low attendance could be the start of other sports seasons. As different sports teams kick off their seasons, students may find themselves torn between attending football games and supporting their friends in other sports. This can lead to a decline in the number of students showing up for football games.
Another factor to consider is the increase in after-school activities. As the school year progresses, more clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities start up, providing students with a wider range of options for how they spend their time after school. With more choices available, some students may choose to participate in these activities instead of attending football games.
Lastly, the academic workload can also contribute to the decline in attendance. As the year goes on, schoolwork tends to become more challenging and time-consuming. Students may find themselves with less free time to dedicate to extracurricular activities, including attending football games. The demands of schoolwork can take precedence over attending games, leading to a decrease in the student section turnout.
