Universal Studios hosted its 32nd Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), a major hit led by Dr. Oddfellow. The immortal sorcerer’s highlights featured in scare zones and haunted houses throughout the park, including six original houses and four intellectual property houses.
Entering, you encounter ‘Bloodmoon: Dark Offerings,’ immersing ‘scream squads’ in ritualistic ceremonies. ‘Yeti Campground Kills’ and ‘Dueling Dragons’ follow, with ‘Oddfellow’s Twisted Origin’ showcasing the character in a circus setting. ‘The Darkest Deal’ delves into a blues musician’s soul trade, while ‘Universal Monsters: Unmasked’ unveils the backstories of infamous horror legends.
Intellectual property houses like ‘The Exorcist: Believer,’ ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count,’ and ‘The Last of Us’ scattered throughout the park brought popular horror franchises to life. ‘The Exorcist’ portrays demonic possession, ‘Stranger Things’ focuses on season four, ‘Chucky’ compiles the doll’s best kills, and ‘The Last of Us’ features the Cordyceps brain virus.
Five scare zones following Dr. Oddfellow’s storyline include ‘Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horror,’ ‘Dark Zodiac,’ ‘Jungle of Doom Expedition: Horror,’ ‘Vamp ‘69,’ and ‘Shipyard 32,’ each with unique chilling experiences.
Halloween Horror Nights’ success this year is undeniable, with the park making remarkable improvements since COVID-19 closures. Hopes are high for Dr. Oddfellow’s return, continuing to unleash havoc in future years.
