Dance proposals are a big deal –especially for girls. The excitement of getting asked is very thrilling. Dancing with the guy or girl you like is even better. Usually when you get asked to homecoming, prom, or a different type of dance the guy makes you a sign, gets you flowers, candy and maybe a gift. Most girls don’t like it when the guy does it in public like during a school day. So most people usually go to their house, after one of their sports game, or at a dinner. They also try to keep it a secret and just get 1 or 2 of the girls friend to help. Also the poster usually says something surrounding the girl or something to do with them together. An example is a cheerleader got asked and it said ” it will really cheer me up if you come to hoco with me”.

How girls want to be asked may differ from how guys want to ask the girl. My friend Milah said ” I would want to be asked with a poster and flowers”. My other friend Tatum said ” with a sweet poster, in front of some people but not a huge crowd, and not at school. Most girls don’t want to be asked very publicly, just within a group of friends. When I asked my friends most of them said ” not at school “. Even though it’s very sweet, it can be uncomfortable in front of so many people that they don’t know. So when a girls gets asked she wants a poster, flowers, and not very public, and NOT at school.

Guys may want to ask girls differently.  For example my friend Spencer said ” I would do it after class”. But girls don’t want it in public and not at school. But boys have the same concept on how to asks girls. My friend Luc said ” I would get them poster, flowers, and something that goes with the theme of the poster.  Girls love posters and flowers so this is a great idea! Some guys are rude or have no clue. Just go with your gut and what you think is best!
