Season six brings 30 singles from Charlotte, North Carolina. This season is full of betrayals, lies, and, of course, “no”s at the altar that shows the drama and entertainment this series brings to the audience. Each single goes through a series of dating in “pods” solely on hearing, but not seeing each other. Over ten days, short dates turn into long ones then turn into engagements. Couples can finally meet in-person after their engagement, at which they will spend some time at a couples retreat as well as living together back in their hometown where things start to get messy.
Chelsea and Jimmy
In the beginning, it was known that Chelsea and Jimmy for headed for a dramatic ending. Ever since their first meeting, when Jimmy looked at the camera in disbelief that she did not look anything like “Megan Fox”, as she said she did. She’s been insecure through their relationship, which was the core of all their arguments. Whether Jimmy “loves her ” or Jimmy isn’t giving her enough attention”. While the viewers on the other side see that Jimmy did in fact constantly tell her, he loved her. Jimmy’s detachment from Chelsea this season has not been as bad as one would say, Kenneth, another single, would choose to be glued to his phone rather than give his Fiance (at the time) Brittany the attention she was seeking.
Brittany and Kenneth
From the start, destiny bound these two together. They respected each other by waiting till marriage and had the same beliefs and values. When Kenneth proposed to Brittany, I was very happy, I believed they’d be great together. Until, their true colors started to appear when they hit reality. Kenneth instantly started making excuses. Yes, he’s a principal and needs to read emails but, you could at least acknowledge your Fiance. Rumors spread as viewers saw a post by Brittany and Kenneth together after their breakup. Every girl on the internet was hoping she did not go back to him. At the reunion, they were just friends. If it was me, I would start going off on my husband if he was acting up as AD did not do for Clay.
AD and Clay
Personally I was never rooting for this relationship while she seemed very genuine in her intentions and committed, Clay had been extremely shallow and immature. As we may have seen Clay was disrespectful to AD stating, he “needs to see what she looks like before proposing”. Why sign up for a show that focuses on emotional rather than physical attractions. Clearly he didn’t read the contract in which he signed! He continued with comments about her body type and saying “ I’m not letting you get out of shape”. Jaydalis Colon stated, “AD should’ve reacted more harsh towards him, making her emotions heard”. This is valid as Clay continues to walk over her feelings, even stating he’s worried about cheating on her because his dad did. AD was so “in love”, she didn’t realize what he was preparing her for. While acting surprised when he turned her down at the wedding. AD should’ve known what was coming.
This show was filled with so much drama that some viewers found it hard to contain themselves. I asked Lily Gimeno what she thought of this season overall. Lily stated, “ It was one of the most hectic seasons of all. I really enjoyed all the drama and definitely recommend it if you’re looking to laugh a lot”.
