Thinking about going to FSU? Here’s some things to know about it! The school is in the city Tallahassee which is the capital of Florida. Florida State University is one of the most top-ranked public Universities in the nation. Although the high rankings, the school is particularly hard to get into. Only 25% of sent-in applications get accepted. You need a 1360 on the SAT, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. On top of that, extra curricular activities help get a better chance of getting into the school.
The school offers a lot of opportunities for different paths. Its most known majors are in science, technology, arts, humanities and philosophy. It’s best offer is its business programs as FSU is #4 in the country for accounting. FSU student Hannah Edwards says, “I am currently majoring in sports management and these professors will help you entirely along the way, although at some points you have to be independent.” There are also a lot of places to study in the area, they have a student area where they provide food and drinks and a quiet place to do homework.
Other than the academics they offer, FSU has a lot of extra curricular activities and clubs you can join, they have something for everyone! They even offer sports outside of their school if you are willing to play just for fun. Current FSU Student, Hannah Edwards adds, “I played flag football and made a lot of new friends, while also getting a workout in.” The school is also known for its campus, there is a lot you can do outside of school and clubs. You can go to cool restaurants, small coffee shops, thrift stores, and go out to hang with friends.
Outside of the college town, there are some places you can visit that are not too far from the town. FSU is 36 miles from the beach which isn’t too much of a drive. FSU is about a 2 and a half drive from a very fun national park in Georgia. Providence Canyon is a park that is nicknamed “the little grand canyon” it has a lot of trails you can walk and see the different nature things it brings.
The school’s sports are very competitive and reached high in their divisions. FSU’s football team went 13-1 in the 2023 fall semester. Baseball and softball also excel as softball is 26-10, and baseball is 25-5. Their men’s and women’s soccer team has excelled as well. All around FSU’s sports are great and really present the school well!
In conclusion, FSU is a great place to get the knowledge you need for your degree. Other than the academics there are a lot of fun things to do to pass your time in the college! FSU is a great school to choose if you are thinking about going there!
