As children get older they tend to lose their spark. Most children as they hit their teenage years happen to fall out of hobbies, friends come and go, and times really do change. So at a point like this schools should be a major helping hand for these students and be the next step of gaining back that spark. So let’s take this effort into LMHS.
Classes –
For starters, classes could be an amazing help in bringing out teenagers true creativity. Most academic classes are the most boring, time consuming, and almost brain melting thing a person can sit through (personal opinion) but schools should be using this to help bring out the creative aspect of any old book work.
The major classes (Math, Language arts, Social studies, and science) should be more hands-on classes to keep the mind going. With more activities students will be provided a better way to memorize the topic and get so much more practice. It keeps life in the classroom fun.
Shyann Rose said – “I think there should be more hands-on activities because more people would go to school if there were fun activities instead of just writing after writing.”
Students –
The average teenager is tired, overworked, stressed out, and so much more. It takes a lot to keep a student awake so trying to keep one focused and actually enjoying the work is practically war. Teachers not only deserve the praise for everything they do but also need to find ways to keep it exciting because I know I’m bored.
Leigha Strickland said – “I think some classes could turn book work assignments into fun projects that gives the students more flexibility with their assignments would help kids better have fun or be more involved with their work.”
Electives –
Elective classes are like a school’s only way to bring out any kind of spark in a student’s mind. With Art classes, Music, Cooking and so much more. These classes are the main root of any inspiration students will get in a school and these classes can help students find the future they want to pursue and job opportunities. Highschool seems to be the last step before ‘ the real world’ so let’s make it creative please? It’s the last chance to spark anything in these students.. Make it count.
