TWICE: Taking Korea by storm

Lets talk about TWICE! Koreas favorite 9 member girl group that debuted in 2015. TWICE’s debut was like a breath of fresh air in the K-pop scene. “Like Ooh-Ahh” wasn’t just a song; it was an infectious anthem that had everyone hooked from the very first ‘ooh-ahh.’ With killer dance moves and a catchy chorus, TWICE made it clear that they were here to stay. As the years rolled by, TWICE continued to dominate the charts, dropping hits like “Cheer Up,” “TT,” and “Likey.” Their cute yet powerful concept became a trademark, capturing hearts not just in Korea but around the globe. And let’s not forget Sana’s iconic “Shy Shy Shy” moment – a cultural phenomenon that took over schools, playgrounds, and, of course, social media in Korea. Fast forward to 2024, and TWICE is still going strong, proving that they’re more than just a flash in the pan. As a high schooler who has grown up with TWICE’s music playing in the background of study sessions, sleepovers, and everything in between, it’s heartening to see how they’ve become an integral part of our lives. My favorite memory had to be seeing them live in 2023, truly an amazing experience to see these girls captivating looks, skills, and vocals live. Here’s to many more years of TWICE lighting up our world, and to the enduring power of this genre that brings us all together, no matter where we are in the world.
