In the whirl of excitement of prom it’s very easy to forget the cost of attending such an event. There’s the outfit, shoes, and maybe makeup depending on you. When you consider all the possible prom cost, it becomes clear that planning your budget is very important 

 

Prom costs today can average anywhere from $175 to $2100! The costs of attending prom can vary greatly by region, and what you choose to spend the most on can depend upon your prom budget. Smart prom goers can get creative and find affordable ways to make their dreams come true on prom night. Here is how much you can end up spending on each item

 

Prom tickets: The cost of prom tickets can range from 70-200$ the price is usually determined by factors such as the venue, food and where the location is held

 

The dress: The average prom dress can cost 100-600$, the dress is by far the most important priority and most likely the most important piece of the prom budget for the average teenage girl.

 

Tux Rental: The average cost of renting a tuxedo for prom is around 120-200$ 

 

Shoes: Shoes have the average cost of 30-150$, you don’t really need to spend a fortune on the shoes with there being a chance you already have the shoes

 

Jewelry: Prom jewelry can cost as little or as much as you want to spend but on average most people spend 25-100$.

According to Yahoo Style’s exclusive new Prom Across America survey. The survey, which sampled more than 1,700 people, asked respondents a whole gamut of questions that reflect the high school prom experience, including those related to expenses, attire and dress code, social pressure, and gender issues. The results were primarily organized by age and region. On average from all around the US teens spend about 1,540 dollars on all their prom expenses including prom ticket, dress/ tuxedo, shoes, jewelry, purse/clutch, transportation/limo, dinner, hair/makeup/nails, professional photos, tanning/skin care, and then after prom expenses. Teens in the northeast spend the most on the prom, an average of 699.56, compared to 625 in the west , 619$ in the south and 610$ in the midwest according to the survey of 1700 people
