Headline: The ‘Glorious’ days of being a freshman at LMHS
Fresh out of middle school, walking into the next 4 years of your life at no other place than Lake Mary High School. You don’t really know what to expect, well at least I didn’t. And others coming into this school probably won’t either. So let’s see how different High School is from Middle school anyway?
First off – Beautiful Mornings.
You get to wake up bright and early especially if you’re a bus rider getting up at 4 a.m or even 5 and you’re me you’d be lucky to get up after 3 a.m. Getting ready is nerve racking and trying to make sure you have everything just to be out the door before the sun even rises. I know it sounds so ‘joyful.’
Next comes – The amazing bus ride
If you’re anything like me, leaving your house at 6:08 a.m is not the most exciting thing when it comes to standing out in the heat to wait for a bus. But it needs to get done. Getting on the bus with all the bright lights shining in eyes SUCKS. But thankfully when everyone is seated the lights turn off and that takes you to your silent bus ride just to get to the school and sit (depending on your bus) in a sweatbox til 6:43 a.m.
If it couldn’t have taken any longer – You’ve finally arrived
The doors open and you’re finally welcomed into the next 4 years of your life. It’s freezing inside so it might take a little time to get used to it, so why don’t you walk around with some friends and explore the GIANT campus. You can also stop and get some breakfast if you need it from the lovely cafeteria. That’s somehow always freezing but the cold is better than the heat if you ask me.
Sally R. thinks, “It’s really cold in the mornings like, i’m about to bring a portable heating pad.”
7:15 a.m – time to run to your classes
The halls are crowded and everyone is going a different direction but don’t worry! You have 5 minutes to run to class and once you finally take your seat you actually start your school day. Classes feel long but your day will run by fast . Period by period you get to see your friends, meet new people and you’ll get the hang of your schedule and how to get around this huge school. Making your way to 7th period.
Shyann Rose thinks “ The halls are always crowded and it gets annoying”
2:20 p.m – Dismissal
The end of the day finally hit.. Time to run out of there! Whether you’re a bus rider, car rider, or walker try to get out of there as soon as possible. You can go home, get some sleep, do chores, or just get your homework done but regardless of whatever you do there’s always tomorrow so remember those alarms and enjoy your time at LMHS.
