School lunches definitely have a big impact on students today. Food is one of the main sources of energy during the day. And for families who are struggling because times are tough right now school lunch should be the least of these families worries.
School food –
The lunches at LMHS have a wide variety of selections, From pizza, to chicken sandwiches, burrito bowls, and a hint of chinese food. It gives the same old 4 lines everyday including a place that has drinks and vending machines in the halls but what about the kids who don’t have over 3 dollars to buy food or 2 dollars for the vending machines. Overpriced food isn’t worth the starvation.
Struggles –
Money in some homes is definitely tight right now. Eating cheap dinners, trying to find anything to make ends meet can be challenging so why put families through that for food that isn’t even that good. Makes no sense to me.
Leigha Strickland – Yes I think the school lunches should be free because some students aren’t able to get that red apple dining plan for lunch and or don’t have the money to get lunch.
Quality over quantity –
The school lunch at LMHS is supposed to be on the healthier side for students to ‘refuel’ after a long day and give them the energy to continue on with a healthy mind. But honestly, the food isn’t even that good. So why is it so expensive?
Free lunch –
Overall lunches should be free for all students no matter what situation, it makes living a lot easier. It takes the stress off eating and can actually be a big help to students that are going through stuff in silence. Times are hard, we all need to respect each other, Start with as little as free food.
Jaelyn Williams – I think even with a free lunch program school food still should be free. That program does not completely take away the cost just makes it a few cents and for the families who aren’t allowed on the program and are struggling it just isn’t fair.
