It’s looking bad.
The gaming industry has not been doing too well recently over the course of months, the last few years even. It seems like the industry has just been on a solid decline in quality across the board. There is just so many problems and its time to look at a few and make the judgement, is it cooked?
The prices.
To address the elephant in the room, around the time of this article the trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2 was just released and it was revealed that the console was $450 and now all games will be priced from $80 – 90! That is WAY too much! and a lot of fans are not happy. Another case is that Xbox Game pass prices went up by an extra $5 a month from around $15 to now $20 per month. All in all Everything Is just so expensive in gaming!
The quality of games.
over the past couple of years the quality of games has also gone down drastically. There are buggy unfinished messes being released by big companies we’ve come to expect a lot from all the time. And now almost every game made by a big corporation, WILL have online features. (that you will probably have to pay a subscription for). Even if the game doesn’t need any, and it WILL have in game purchases beyond the actual game you just bought. The games are just getting scummier and scummier.

And now, as if the gaming industry and A.I wasn’t already bad enough now they have been combined! Now there are tons of A.I tools that generate games in seconds with art and code and a front page. All from just a single prompt. And people are actually trying to make money off of it and it is THE WORST THING EVER!!!!!! The games made usually are very bland and boring! And because it takes seconds and you can make money from it (even though you didn’t even make it yourself) There are countless A.I made games being spewed out on all game uploading platforms constantly! It’s so exhausting trying to find an actual real game made by a real person in this absolute sea of pure A.I slop, GARBAGE!
So, is it cooked?
most definitely man, its so hard to find a good game with a fair price nowadays, we are beyond cooked. This whole industry is burnt.
