Which Girl Scout Cookie is Best?
Girl Scout cookies are something that many people have different opinions on. Some people love, worship, and swear by thin mints, and on the other hand some despise them. With cookie season finally finishing, it made realize how diverse people feel about the different flavors. It seems that everyone has completely different opinions on cookies sold by children; which is why I have decided to step in and make THE Girl Scout cookie list. I feel as if I’m pretty qualified as I’ve been in the Girl Scouts since I was in kindergarten, so the cookies and their descriptions run through my veins. Let’s get started from worst to best.
9. Peanut Butter Sandwich
These cookies are described as “Crisp and crunchy oatmeal cookies with creamy peanut butter filling”. Honestly, a lot of girl scouts feel like these are cookie’s only old people buy. They also probably sell the least. When I tasted them it was “Meh”. A crunchy (borderline solid) oatmeal cookie with peanut butter in between. However, they weren’t as bad as I thought they were; but I just wouldn’t buy them again after trying them.
8. Caramel Chocolate Chip (gluten free)
These cookies are described as “Carmel, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and a hint of sea salt in a delicious cookie.”. Since this cookie is gluten free they have a weird almost gritty texture that isn’t awful but not at all pleasant. The flavor though is where it gets weird. You barely taste any Carmel, and some bites have way more salt than others. Overall it wasn’t a horrible experience but I would not buy these cookies again.
7. Toast-yay!
These cookies are described as “French toast inspired cookies dipped in a delicious icing”. These cookies are ok but not at all the best. The cookie itself tastes like if you left Cinnamon Toast Crunch out overnight and ate it in the morning. Again, it’s kinda gritty but it isn’t nearly as bad as the Carmel Chocolate Chip. The icing isn’t awful but it doesn’t really add any creaminess to the cookie the way you might think. Also, I have no idea why they advertise it as a French toast cookie when it doesn’t taste like it at all. Again, it’s like cinnamon toast crunch but as a girl scout cookie. It wasn’t awful or anything but it’s not great either so I wouldn’t buy these again.
6. Trefoils (shortbreads)
These cookies are described as “Iconic shortbread cookies inspired by the original Girl Scout recipe”. This is another cookie that’s known for having old people buy them. The cookie itself is plain but solid. It’s just a buttery cookie, so it’s good but it’s nothing special. I always have at least one when my grandparents buy them for me, so I would say they’re worth at least trying.
5. Adventurfuls
These cookies are described as “Indulgent brownie-inspired with caramel flavored creme with a hint of sea salt”. These cookies are pretty good. A crunchy chocolate cookie with a caramel dollop in the center. They advertise it as being a lot better but in reality they’re just fair not great or amazing. I would buy these again but maybe once a year at most.
4. Caramel deLites
These cookies are described as “Crispy cookies topped with caramel, toasted coconut, and chocolatey stripes.”. This cookie is one of the best sellers. It’s very balanced and good. It mainly tastes like Carmel and coconut with hints of chocolate and it is very good. I would buy these again.
3. Peanut Butter Patties
These cookies are described as “Crispy cookies layered with peanut butter and covered with a chocolatey coating”. I already buy these cookies every year so it’s no surprise it made it this high on the list to me. It’s a chocolate peanut butter cookie with a cookie in the middle and it is good. The only reason it’s at 3 is because they are very indulgent and I feel sick if I eat too many. This is a must try in my opinion.
2. Lemonades
These cookies are described as “Savory slices of short bread with a refreshingly tangy lemon flavored icing.”. This is a yummy refreshing cookie that I buy every year without fail. It’s a light lemon icing that basically a shortbread cookie is dipped in. It’s perfectly balanced and I could eat a whole box of these in one sitting. This is a cookie that I 100% recommend.
1. Thin Mints
These cookies are described as “Crisp wafers covered in a chocolatey coating made with natural oil of peppermint”. These cookies are perfect, and also one of the best sellers. They’re well rounded and delicious. The cookie is light and the mint chocolate coating isn’t too thick and it’s so good. These are cookies I recommend buying at least twice every cookie season.
