Seniors Need Less Homework.

College admissions are already enough!
Seniors+Need+Less+Homework.

As a current senior in high school, college admissions and decisions are driving me insane. I, among many other students are in a constant state of stress and uncertainty and 27 new assignment notifications on campus doesn’t make it better.

I’m not saying get rid of all homework, but I gently encourage teachers to consider the amount of work most students have been going through not related to high school. Many students at this point have jobs to save up for college, the responsibility of applying to colleges and universities and finding other opportunities. It seems impossible to have enough time for all this buried in homework. If the school allotted a certain amount of time that teachers can assign homework completion hours in class it would reduce at home work. This allows students to take time off of school and focus on, well, school again. Most teachers are of no help for college assistance, and public schools offer very little insight on the importance of preparing for college. If students have to figure it out themselves, we shouldn’t have to worry about an absurd amount of homework.

“I believe seniors are given the most amount of homework and responsibility, it’s unfair.” ~Ben burry

“Some teachers have been completely un reasonable with home work this year, and I’ve been swamped with college work to do!”
~John Mcgarry

Eliminating homework itself isn’t possible nor helpful, but laying off the students with the most responsibilities and deadlines to meet outside of high school will better their mental health in one of the most stressful points of there lives.
