How is AI taking over art and music?
How is AI taking over media you may ask? Well let me tell you, have you heard of chat gpt and ai generated content? I bet you have! It’s been circulating the web constantly in mass media, like TikTok. Many people say, “AI is our future”, more like a future of art and music with no real meaning!
Why is this a problem?
Individuals, and I’m not naming names, can use these apps to generate answers to questions on assignments. Which just destroys the purpose of putting in the work, while it may be easier, sometimes it’ll generate the wrong answer occasionally. Which not only destroys the purpose of a work ethic or hard work in general, but you’re not even getting it right. Through trial and error, at least you’re learning something!
What does it do to art and music?
Through these apps, generated content like music can be developed within a few seconds. Which leads me to a specific point, people generating art for clout. Claiming it as their “hard work”. Even music can be generated, from celebrity voices and so on. Music and art is made from your heart, it’s made from your creativity not from an AI.
What will AI do to us?
We’ve come this far to know that AI is destroying art and music, which is also just a work ethic. You learn to make art, you learn to make music. Without it, art and music start to have no meaning. It’s just there, there’s nothing to be inspired about nor enjoy. From an aspiring artist Mariia, her perspective on this issue is “i HATE AI art its killing artists!” and I, for one, agree. AI is our doomsday.
