So I sat down with Paige, the president of the Kindness Club at Lake Highland Prep. She’s really into what she does and honestly it’s pretty awesome. I asked her how the club started and she said it was all about making a difference in small ways. “We just wanna spread kindness even when no one’s watching,” she said with a big smile. Paige believes that little acts can totally change someone’s day and it’s cool to see someone so dedicated to spreading good vibes.
I was curious about what kind of stuff they do in the club. Paige got super excited and started listing things. “We write secret notes for people who seem down and we’ve had random acts of kindness weeks,” she explained. One time they left flowers on random lockers with little notes attached. It sounded really fun and the reactions were just priceless. It’s like a surprise but just to brighten someone’s day. You can tell it really means a lot to her and the other members.
Then I asked her if it was hard to keep everyone motivated. She shrugged and said “Sometimes yeah but we try to keep it chill and fun.” Paige mentioned they have meetings where they brainstorm ideas and share stories of kindness. It’s not just about the acts it’s about creating a vibe you know? She believes that when people see kindness happening it makes them wanna get involved. It’s like a chain reaction and who wouldn’t wanna be part of something good like that?
I was curious if she thinks kindness is missing in schools. She thought for a moment and said “Totally it can get really competitive and stressful you know?” Paige feels like sometimes people focus way too much on grades and sports forgetting about being nice. She wants to change that culture even if it’s just a little. “It’s not about being perfect” she added “but just being there for each other.” Hearing her talk made me think about how I could step up and be nicer too.
Before we wrapped up I asked Paige what her dream for the Kindness Club is. She lit up when she said she hopes it grows bigger maybe even to other schools. “I just want everyone to feel supported” she said. It’s clear she’s not just in it for the title she really cares. Talking to her made me realize how much simple kindness can actually make a difference. Who knew a club focused on doing nice things could inspire not just its members but the whole school?
