Prom is like THE event in high school that everyone looks forward. It’s the night where you get to dress up all nice take a bunch of pics and party with your friends before summer hits. But there’s always this big question: Should it be just for seniors, or should lower classman be included.

One reason prom should mainly be for seniors is because it’s supposed to celebrate the end of high school. Seniors are about to graduate and move on to college jobs or other plans so prom is kind of like one last big memory before everyone goes their separate ways. Since seniors are finishing their last year. It makes sense that the event would be focused on them.

Another big reason is the cost. Prom can be really expensive. Tickets alone can cost a lot of money, and that’s not even including everything else. Dresses, suits .shoes, hair, makeup. Some people also go out to dinner before prom or rent limos with friends. Because of how expensive it can be it makes more sense for seniors to have the main chance to experience it instead of having to do this another year.

Some people think juniors should go too, especially if they have senior friends. But in the end prom is really about celebrating the seniors and their big goodbye to high school.
