Water Polo: Just Keep Swimming
March 1, 2017
Not on the court, not on the field, but in the pool. Lake Mary girls water polo team is dominating. Either the score coming neck and neck or our girls winning in a landslide.
For those of you who don’t know, water polo is a mix of soccer and basketball just in the pool. Imagine swimming back and forth in seven minute quarters, not being able to touch the bottom. It may not seem that hard but trust me, it definitely is.
Nicole Bucci, Junior playing said: “Water Polo is a rough sport. When I first started, I had no idea how physically straining it would be.” Not only is she a very hard player, but she’s a very dedicated student as well and does her best to do well in school and in the pool.
Practicing every night and having at least two games a week. So far, beating Oviedo, Seminole, and lyman. Although, one loss against Lake Brantley has made the team even more determined for their next game against Brantley February 23rd.
This years team is very young but they’re practicing hard hoping to win at states.
