The 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy gave fans many exciting figure skating moments. Skaters showed great skill, strong emotions, and good sportsmanship. These are some of my favorite memories from the Games.
Alysa Liu Wins Gold
One of the biggest highlights was Alysa Liu winning the gold medal in women’s singles. She skated with confidence and grace. Her jumps were strong and her performance felt joyful. When her final score appeared, she smiled with relief and happiness. Many fans were proud to see her bring home the gold medal for the United States.
Ilia Malinin’s Big Jumps
In the men’s event, Ilia Mal
inin amazed the crowd with his powerful jumps. He is known for attempting very difficult quad jumps. At the Olympics, he landed them with strength and control. The audience cheered loudly after each big element. His performance showed how much the sport continues to grow and improve.
Yuma Kagiyama’s Emotional Skate
Another special moment came from Yuma Kagiyama. His program was full of emotion and beautiful skating skills. After he finished, he looked very moved. The crowd gave him a standing ovation. It was clear that he had given his whole heart to the performance.
The Exhibition Gala
The competition ended with the exhibition gala. Skaters performed fun and creative programs. Kaori Sakamoto brought energy and smiles to the ice. The gala allowed athletes to relax and celebrate their hard work. It was a happy ending to an exciting Olympic event.
