When is the last time you’ve seen a genuine art piece that wasn’t AI? For most people it has been a while. We have lost our appreciation for real art. Many artists aren’t being seen because we prefer the simplicity of typing our ideas into an AI chat  bot which will create it within seconds. We are tearing apart the community that once brought us together.

“AI art is bad because it steals from artists to try to replace years of hard work. It is unfair and ruins what makes art special and unique”  – Isabella Rowlands, a 9th grader at Lake Mary High School.

Isabella Rowlands is an extremely talented artist who has watched artificial intelligence destroy this group. I myself have seen how much work she put into becoming a good artist. I have also seen how quickly AI has tried to put it to waste. Imagine your favorite hobby has been overshadowed by an inanimate object.

Most artists make their money through their craft. They use that money to afford rent and to feed themselves. Because of AI many people are not commissioning artists anymore, meaning artists aren’t making the money they need in order to survive.

Just like a parasite, if we don’t use AI, our art community will thrive again. We must get rid of it.
